About me

Hello, there, and thank you for your interest in my art! Here’s a little info about me.
I’m an artist living in Northwest Arkansas with my wife and two boys. I was born near Seattle in the 70s and still enjoy visiting the PNW for the beautiful Puget Sound, lush evergreen trees and majestic mountains. My primary mediums are oil and acrylic, and I’m especially drawn to painting landscapes.
Before painting, photography was my primary art form for over 25 years and shaped how I see the world—especially when it comes to light and composition. That perspective still plays a big role in my painting today.
Many of my paintings are based on photos I've captured during our family travels. We’ve visited every state in the U.S., and have also had the chance to travel internationally a bit, which gives me a variety of content to draw from. Other pieces are inspired by the mood and colors of classic Impressionist paintings, where I explore my own take on familiar scenes and atmospheres. Occasionally, I paint in plein air around Northwest Arkansas.
For me, painting is a way to slow down, be present, and capture scenes and moments that feel calm, beautiful, or meaningful. I’m still exploring and growing with each piece, and I love that every painting teaches me something new.
